About
Multifaceted product strategist. Impact-driven change.
I've spent two decades doing work that is hard to put in a single box — and that is precisely the point. I've led programs in post-conflict zones, built content systems for federal agencies, managed inter-agency operations at the United Nations, and founded ventures across two continents. What drives me is a straightforward belief: that well-designed systems and well-told stories can change the conditions of people's lives. I bring that belief to every project, whether it fits neatly on a resume or not.
What sets me apart is a combination that is genuinely rare. I hold a PMP certification and a Google UX credential, but I've also directed mental health programs reaching 25,000 people and managed over a million dollars in inclusion funds across 30 countries. I'm as comfortable in a Figma prototype as I am in a multilateral negotiation. Bilingual in English and Spanish, with intermediate Mandarin, I've worked across cultures, time zones, and sectors — and consistently turned that breadth into sharper, more grounded strategy for the teams and organizations I serve.
What I Do
Strategy, delivery, and language that connects.
-
Strategy That Ships
I plan and lead complex programs from the ground up — across governments, international organizations, and private sector partners. Whether it's a multi-country UN initiative or a digital product roadmap, I keep large, high-stakes projects on time, on scope, and accountable to impact.
-
Content People Actually Use
I design the words, flows, and information architectures that help real people navigate complex systems. At USAGov, I led UX content strategy for a Benefit Finder tool built to serve millions — bringing plain language, accessibility, and user research together to reduce friction and increase trust in government services.
-
Change at Scale
I've directed behavioral change campaigns, stress management centers, and violence reduction programs that reached tens of thousands of people across Central America, Mexico, and beyond. I bring the same rigor to social impact work that I bring to digital products — because outcomes, not intentions, are what matter.
Footprint
Work for lasting outcomes.

Making Government Benefits Findable
As Bilingual Senior Content Strategist, I led UX content strategy for the USAGov Benefit Finder — a tool designed to help millions of Americans identify the federal programs they qualify for. My work centered on plain language, bilingual accessibility, and content structures that reduce confusion at exactly the moment people need clarity most. The tool serves one of the largest and most diverse audiences in U.S. digital government.
-
Reforming UN Operations Across 131 Countries
When the United Nations undertook a sweeping reform of its global operations, I was responsible for delivering high-impact common services across all 131 UN Country Teams — spanning every major UN entity on the planet. I managed over 50 inter-agency services, coordinated across organizational boundaries that rarely cooperate, and helped translate a global mandate into functional, on-the-ground change.
-
Reducing Violence Through Behavioral Change
Working alongside the World Bank and public sector partners, I directed programs that established national stress management centers serving more than 25,000 people and violence reduction initiatives that reached over 1,500 prison inmates and staff. These were not communications campaigns — they were behavioral change programs built on evidence, delivered in difficult environments, and evaluated against real outcomes.
-
Building a Strategy & Creative Consultancy
I founded Upco Create as a strategy and creative consultancy built around a single premise: that organizations achieve more when they understand their audience deeply and communicate with clarity. I've led engagements across sectors — helping clients define their positioning, build content ecosystems, and turn complex ideas into strategies that actually get executed.
-
Scaling Social Impact Through Systems Thinking
I founded UpImpact to apply the discipline of strategy and program management to the social sector — where urgency is high and resources are rarely sufficient. The work focuses on helping mission-driven organizations build the systems, metrics, and narratives they need to grow their reach and demonstrate results to funders, partners, and the communities they serve.
-
Leading Product for a Global Wellness Brand
As Product Manager for the Art of Living marketing team, I oversaw the digital product roadmap for one of the world's largest wellness and mindfulness organizations. I coordinated across content, design, and engineering to ship campaigns and platform features that served a global audience — bringing product discipline and user-centered thinking to a high-volume, mission-driven environment.
-
Reducing Violence in Prisons, Schools, and Universities Across Three Countries
In partnership with Art of Living and local government institutions across Mexico, Central America, and the United States, I designed and led evidence-based violence prevention programs delivered inside correctional facilities, secondary schools, and universities. The work combined stress management, trauma-informed facilitation, and behavioral change methodologies to address root causes of violence where conventional interventions had failed. Programs reached inmates, correctional staff, students, and educators — creating measurable shifts in aggression, emotional regulation, and institutional climate across all three contexts. Coordinating with municipal and state governments in each country, I helped embed these programs into existing public systems so the impact would outlast the initial engagement.

What People Say
Trusted across sectors.
-
Diego brought an unusual combination of strategic clarity and genuine cross-cultural fluency to one of the most operationally complex reform efforts our office had ever undertaken. He made the hard parts look manageable — and he delivered.
-
What stood out was how quickly Diego understood the real problem — not the stated one. He aligned our stakeholders, restructured the workflow, and got us to launch on time. I would work with him again without hesitation.
